I count five sets of strings/dangling things on my outfit, making this a definite top contender in the fire hazard category.
Random note: I can't make a fist or grip anything with full strength for about an hour after I wake up. It's worse if I've been woken suddenly or didn't get enough sleep. The Internet says I'm having a stroke (I don't think this this the case, this has been going on since childhood. The Internet also said my migraines were brain cancer.) Does anyone else experience that?
About your fist, maybe is just a blood circulation thing...can't be that bad, you still alive no?
ReplyDeleteI love the dagger-never seen one as a brooch
Again love your proportions and all that is going on, it's perfect
Have a great weekend

Haha, you are right. I don't think it is harmful, I just have never met someone with the same thing. I think it has to do with sleep paralysis being slow to wear off for me.
DeleteThe number of swords and daggers in vintage brooches is quite surprising to me! I had to narrow down and choose my favorite or else I would have gone crazy, easily. (:
Dagger brooch - I'd snag that too!

Thanks for visiting, Tami! I'll have to check out your blog, too. :D
DeleteAh, when I thought up this week's prompt, I didn't even consider a thematic inspiration! Kudos!
ReplyDeleteIt all ties together nicely, dangling bits and all. The color combination is very flattering.
Thanks for linking up!
Do you sleep on your hands? I have similar issues, but I've also got arthritis and nerve damage. I also accidentally put pressure on my hands when I sleep, so the blood drains out and I have weakness in my hands for awhile after waking up.
ReplyDeleteLovelovelove the inspiration from this look and how you've styled your obi sash. I added you to the list of my blogger obi wearers!
Hm, I wonder if that is it. I know when I am on a nice mattress, I fall asleep and wake up in the same position and it still happens, so I was wondering if it was sleep paralysis. I'll have to ask the next time I'm hanging out with my boyfriend, since he tends to be an insomniac. :D
DeleteThank you for adding me to the list! I feel like I have joined an elite club's ranks.
Oh, the brooch is so lovely and I like how you "dressed it up". I used to have same problem with my hands (though they recovered sooner that one hour). Somebody told me I didn't have enough potassium in my blood and advised to eat more bananas. Don't know whether really bananas helped but now I don't have this problem. As to migraines, I have them every month for a day or two. Sometimes so strong that all I can do is just to stay in bed. The doctor said it is hormonal.

Still chuffed at your perfect use of "unkempt" - I love seeing language being used so concisely.
ReplyDeleteLovely obi - I have 2 of Megan's and love them both.
