Tripp Through Your Wires

Weather is warm enough for skirts, too cool to go without a jacket. I can dig it.
Military jacket: Tripp NYC (thrifted)
Skirt: KOMMOTiON NY (eBay, size M available)
Triple scarf: OzzOn Japan (Japan)
Shoes: Rieker Antistress (thrifted)
 Origami Earrings: fake Anthropologie (eBay)

I find military jackets plus floaty skirts so appealing. Or maybe it's just that I like those two things so I smash them together into outfits.

I found the jacket at a thrift store my friend Cathy took me to in Huntington Beach. It's the light cotton type that I completely jettisoned from my wardrobe when I moved to SF. I used to wear them all the time when I lived down here over a decade ago.

The brand Tripp NYC appears to be a goth/punk brand. Big shock that I ended up with it, haha. My friend actually found it. She pulled it from the rack after just seeing the sleeve because she figured it would be my style. I am consistent. :D

There was an awesome cropped bomber jacket there too, but when I zipped it up I garroted myself in the armpits and couldn't lift my arms, so I had to let it go. -_-

I was worried that when I got down here I wouldn't have any place to go shopping, but it's looking like that won't be the case, after all. (:

Who can resist a handkerchief hem? Certainly not I.
Twirly action!
Do you ever combine contrasting or seemingly disparate styles into an outfit?

Buddhaful Day

This post's photos are brought to you by guest photographer and my brother Jin! :D
Diana coat: Buddhaful (gift)
Petal sway necklace: Anthropologie
Ring: vintage (Grandmother's)
Skirt: Donna Karan (borrowed from Mom)
Shoes: also borrowed from Mom
Things look so different on a DSLR!

These were taken before I left Southern California. I still love my Buddhaful Diana coat and I've been getting very nice comments on it whenever I go out in public or to social events. I'm going to submit this to How I Wear My: Coat, run by Jill of Everything Just So and Adriene of The Rich Life on a Budget. I'm also going to link up to Patti's Visible Monday!

I'm feeling more and more self-conscious about the very mild winter we are having in the SF Bay Area. It usually is not like this, and it's happening while the rest of the nation is experiencing a cold spell. I hope you all are staying warm and not losing your minds to cabin fever. There's always blogging, whether reading or writing, yes? Yes?

Sending sunshine thoughts your way,
-Aya

Consumer Update

Okay, I see now why many bloggers took off until the new year!

Totally thought I'd have enough thumb-twiddling time in beautiful Southern CA to take outfit photos, what with the gorgeous weather here and all. Nope! Busy hanging out with family and dear friends. I have just been feeling incredibly lucky the last few days on my break.

...also in a typically genius Aya moment, I left my camera cable back in San Francisco. So here are some Internet photos of my Christmas presents:
Sans gloves, this Ozz Oneste dress was sold used on the Japanese auction site Rakuten.
Ozz Angelo shawl and fingerless long gloves. The ends have snaps on them so you can snap the ends around your arms or in a number of configurations around your neck and shoulders. (links not sponsored)

I also have a beautiful new apron, handmade for me by my brother's girlfriend. She even remembered that I'm left-handed and put the pocket on the correct side for me! I can't wait to take photographs of it.

Hope to be back soon, the next several days will likely be graduate school applications and eating with the friends and family I am so fortunate to have. I hope you all are having a fine holiday!
